MAO-MFO Settings: Optimization

To access this screen:

  1. Display the Optimization control bar.

  2. Select Allocation & Flow >> Settings.

  3. Select the Optimization tab.

Choose between MAO (Material Allocation Optimizer) and MFO (Mine Flw Optimizer scheduling modes.

  • MAO: Optimize material allocation for Scheduler OES  select this option to run MAO.

  • MFO: Optimize mine flow for Scheduler OES select this option to run MFO.

    Selecting this option displays Set maximum mining rates. Use this to set an upper limit on mining rate (total rock mass mined in a year). If the Maximum Rate is not defined MFO runs twice the Scheduler rate: optionally, you can vary the limit over time.

    Mining Rates limits can include:

    • only material from the mine(s),

    • material from the mine(s) and reclaimed from stockpiles, or;

    • material from the mine(s), reclaimed from stockpiles, and from external sources.

    Note: The lower limit on mining rate is the mining rate as defined by the scheduler. MFO can only increase this rate.
